Finding a Good Monologue

When an aspiring or a working actor or actress goes to their audition. It is important to be aware of the types of monologues are best for the type of role that they are submitting for. It is important that if the role is dramatic that the one auditioning choose a dramatic monologue to audition with. The same is true with comedy or any other genre because it will be important for the casting director to see the individual in the same type of role that they are auditioning for.

When auditioning for a play, chances are that the director will require everyone to read from the script during the audition. Other auditions, such as for talent shows or during acting classes or anything that is not for a designated show you will be asked to prepare your own monologue. It is always good to have something in the back of your mind and to be prepared during anything that you may be doing because you never know when you might be asked to show off some different material.
